On the evening of January 20th, 2021, the School of Banking - University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) cooperated with Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint-stock Bank - Techcombank to hold a seminar on "Banker profession". The event attracted nearly 300 students with the desire to learn and find the answers for their queries concerning one of the important professions of the economy.
Hall B1.302 was filled with students participating in the seminar.
Attending the seminar, on the side of Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint-stock Bank - Techcombank there was Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa - Techcombank Southern Sales and Service Quality Development Manager, Ms. Pham Thi Bich Ngoc - Capacity Development Project Director, and Ms. Tran Nguyen Chau Duy - Head of Southern Recruitment Department. From the side of UEH School of Banking, there was Dr. Hoang Hai Yen - Dean; Dr. Phan Chung Thuy - Vice Dean; MSc. Duong Tan Khoa - Deputy Dean of Faculty and all the members of the Faculty of Banking. There were also nearly 300 students from Finance - Banking courses who listened to practical and useful sharing from the Techcombank representatives.
Dr. Hoang Hai Yen gave a bouquet to express gratitude for the companionship of the Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint-stock Bank - Techcombank.
Opening the seminar, Dr. Hoang Hai Yen highly appreciated the support and would like to thank the companionship of Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Techcombank for bringing practical values to the graduating students of the Finance - Banking Department. In recent years, Techcombank has always been among the top of the most successful banks in terms of profitability and has always been a pioneer in the banking sector's innovation. This event marks the extensive and long-term cooperation between Techcombank and the Faculty of Banking in the near future.
Simultaneously, through the program, the School of Banking - University of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint-stock Bank - Techcombank also offered students scholarships with a total value of up to 50 million VND.

In the first part of the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa - Southern Sales and Service Quality Development Manager of Techcombank, shared the special features of the working environment at Techcombank in particular and the attractive career opportunities of the banking industry in general, now and in the future. According to Mr. Khoa, the Finance - Banking sector in general and the banking system, in particular, have always been the lifeblood of the economy, especially in Vietnam. Therefore, job opportunities in the industry are ample and contain many challenges, requiring a lot of effort to gain success.
In the next part, with a warm presentation, Ms. Tran Nguyen Chau Duy - Head of the Southern Recruitment Department of Techcombank shared about CV writing and interview skills for students when startisearchingob opportunities. From the perspective of the person working in the bank's human resource department and an alumnus of UEH, Ms. Duy understands the students' concerns when they first come into contact with the actual working environment. Many useful experiences and skills were shared by Ms. Duy such as processes that need to be prepared before, during, and after the interview; information required, and the layout of a CV and the interview FAQs.
Finally, with the guidance of Ms. Pham Thi Bich Ngoc - Director of the Capacity Development Project, the seminar took place very excitedly when many students competed to ask their questions to the Bankers from Techcombank. Most of the students’ questions revolved around topics such as: what competencies a Banker needs, opportunities to work in different positions, and technological and macro trends in the banking sector in Vietnam in the future. Ms. Bich Ngoc, with more than 15 years of experience in the profession, shared that whatever fields you work in, employers always want to see the efficiency of your work, the suitability of jobs and individual factors, and the spirit of continuous self-studying and self-improvement.

The seminar helped the Finance - Banking students to answer any questions about the "Banker profession", a rare opportunity to meet and interact with the leaders of the departments of one of the most successful banks in Vietnam, thereby helping the students learn and accumulate more valuable experiences to have a clearer orientation on their path to becoming a Banker.
The program ended successfully, marking the long-term cooperation between Techcombank and the School of Banking
