GEIP X UEH INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN 2022

On November 12, College of Business –UEH (COB), with the collaboration of the School of Banking, the School of Accounting, the School of Finance and the School of Management, successfully organized the cultural exchange program between UEH students, Vietnam and NGEEAN POLYTECHNIC students, Singapore, part of the GEIP x UEH cooperation program.

“GEIP X UEH INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS PROGRAM IN 2022” was organized with the desire to build a useful playground, creating conditions for students to exchange, learn, and improve solidarity, friendship between Vietnamese students and Singaporean students in general, between students of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Vietnam and Ngee Ann Polytechnic School, Singapore in particular.

In addition, this is also one of the first occasions when the Youth Union and Student Association from School of Banking, School of Finance, School of Management, the Union - Association of the School of Accounting, collaborated to organize an exchange program with international student.

The program started with an exciting Ice Breaking Minigame to help stir up the atmosphere to create a comfortable and friendly relationship between UEH students and Singaporean students.

A dance performance inspired by the famous literary work "Chi Pheo", bringing a unique Vietnamese cultural experience to Singaporean students.

Next, a presentation from the School of Finance brought the image of the beautiful Vietnam, outstanding cultural features, rich nature and gentle and hospitable Vietnamese people to Singaporean students.

In addition to the cultural exchange, a part of the exchange about the economic environment and entrepreneurship in Vietnam was also sent to Singaporeans. The first is the presentation on "Vietnam's macroeconomic outlook" from Dr. Ngo Minh Vu - School of Banking giving Singaporean students as well as UEH students a better view of the current economic environment in Vietnam. The program was followed by an engaging presentation that delved deeper into the topic of entrepreneurship in Vietnam by Dr. Cao Quoc Viet - School of Management and student from "PYTH Project" and “Marie Project”, with the vision of accompanying green agriculture development and doing business with farmers.

After hours of learning about culture and starting a business in Vietnam, Singaporeans also shared highlights of culture, landscape, and people in modern Singapore to UEH students.

And at the end of the morning exchange program was a performance "To he" with cultural art and Vietnamese people introduced to foreign students. Especially, the participating Singaporean students also received gifts of To He as a souvenir from COB-UEH.

Following the cultural exchange program between GEIP and UEH in the morning, there would be a field trip to digital technology firms in Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon, TechFarm Technology Joint Stock Company and Whydah Technology Joint Stock Company. Through the field trip, students from UEH and Singapore were exposed to the working atmosphere, facilities, and business models of an entrepreneurial digital firm. From there, students might have more career orientations and possibilities to examine.

“GEIP X UEH INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM IN 2022” closed in the late afternoon of November 12, marking a successful event in the goal of enhancing international student exchange activities of COB-UEH. This is a useful playground to enhance the spirit of solidarity and friendship between Vietnamese students and Singaporean students in general, between students of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Vietnam and Ngee Ann Polytechnic School, Singapore in particular.
