On 2nd November, 2021, within the framework of the Jeul Project, Siena University (Italy) has organized a periodic seminar. Participated partners include Siena University (Italy), Kent University (UK), Skoda Auto University (Czech), Vilnius University (Lithuania), Nanjing University and Jianing University (China), Banking University HCM, and UEH (Vietnam).
Dr. Hoang Hai Yen and Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh (Faculty of Banking) represented UEH University to participate in the seminar.
Following are the 6 main topics of the seminar:
1 - Establish connections with the industries,
2 - Identify skills and knowledge shortages and embed the required skills in the curricula
3 - Develop and utilize case studies in teaching,
4 - Develop teaching materials for 2 undergraduate modules on Enterprise Pathway, and a suitable Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) as a delivery mode.
5 - Quality assurance training
6 - Dissemination and exploitation of information in training and research
In the seminar, partner universities reported the work which had been done during the three-month period from August to October 2021. UEH representatives reported 4 topics as followed:
(1) UEH university has restructured itself into a multidisciplinary university with the establishment of 03 member schools: Business School; School of Economics, Law and State Government, School of Technology and Design. UEH took the brand name UEH University. Ranking of UEH University increased from top 601 (2021 year) to top 551-600 (2022 year) by QS world university ranking.
(2) UEH has implemented online training for lecturers and staff on Blended Learning. The series of training lasted 5 days for Deans, Vice Deans, Program Director, and all UEH faculty staff. The training delivered 2 packages for different audience.
Training package 1: “Digital and pedagogical skills to successfully apply blended learning”. Training duration was 3 days.
Training package 2: “Standard blended learning quality assessment”. Training duration was 2 days.
(3) UEH has collaborated with Thomson Reuter to organize a training series for lecturers on data mining by Thomson Reuters. There were 47 participants in total. Training duration was 5 days with 5 topics as followed:
In addition, UEH has also guided more than 600 students to learn about Core-banking software using the Simulation Center, which was supported in part of the funding from the JEUL Erasmus Plus project.
(4) Report on the number of students studied in the corporate semester, in the period of internship from August to October 2021;
The partner universities of the JEUL- Erasmus Plus project were very impressed with what UEH has achieved in the recent years.
