Ready for Next - RTD2022: Technology and Design Motivating Readiness for Growth

In the series of Ready For Next activities of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), from December 8-11, the International Conference Resilience by Technology and Design 2022 with the theme Smart Living took place successfully, with the participation of researchers, scholars, many domestic and foreign organizations and businesses.

At the international conference RTD 2022, there were also activities of exchange, cooperation, transfer of science, engineering - technology and development of solutions, technology application, design and innovation in areas that received a lot of attention such as Resilience design in architecture and smart cities; Recovery technology; Design and technology for unity and Innovation - driving recovery for communities and economies.

8 special seminar sessions - Spreading knowledge and technology - design trend of the future

On December 8 and 9, 8 special seminars took place within the framework of the International Conference Resilience by Technology and Design - RTD 2022. This was an opportunity for domestic and foreign scientists to share, as well as discuss new achievements in technology and design, towards building a civilized, modern, smart and sustainable community.

Most of the discussed views believe that innovation, associated with design thinking, and the application of new technologies is the driving force for rapid socio-economic processes to occur more powerfully and efficiently. And that is also the new driving force to promote developed economies in the new era.

In addition, strengthening the resilience of businesses with science, technology and design solutions is a "hot" topic that is focused on sharing through discussion sessions and seminars of RTD this year. Typical are the special seminar sessions:

Conference City 4.0 for future resilience

Talking to the press at the opening session of the Ready for Next series of events and the Resilience by Technology and Design International Conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong, Chairman of the Council of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) shared: “With the determination of a team of scientists, researchers, scientific councils and conference organizers, I believe that the 2022 RTD conference will not only be meaningful and academical, according to international standards, but also want to see solutions and technology applications associated with practice, towards fundamental and sustainable solutions to solve our country's development problems, create new engines of growth. Special SeminarMetaverse: City of Tomorrow

Moderated by Dr. Yi Dong Su - Vice Dean of School of Media Design, UEH College of Technology and Design, the special seminar session Metaverse: City of Tomorrow has received the attention of many researchers and experts, businesses, and numerous media agencies.

With the participation and sharing of Mr. Hoseon Chae (Seoul, Korea); Dr. Kim SangYeon (KWU); Dr. Jaehyun Han (KWU), Dr. Jaehyun Han (KWU), Mr. Stan Weonsuk Lee (Lotte Vietnam), the Metaverse - City of Tomorrow conference created a forum for Korean experts who are directly involved in the Metaverse construction process to share ideas, as well as the process of realizing this ambition of the city of Seoul. Through the event, we see Metaverse through the perspective of media, along with the ability to replicate based on technology, thereby, exploring the potentials and applications of Metaverse in the construction and development of the city. .

Specifically, according to speaker Hoseon Chae, in recent years, many people see Metaverse as the future of the Internet, while others see Metaverse as just another form of a video game. However, despite the ongoing controversy, Seoul, Korea has announced plans to develop its own version of Metaverse, making Seoul the first megacity to enter the Metaverse field. “By 2026, the Korean capital aims to build a perfect Metaverse environment for all public services, including economic, educational, cultural, and tourism services. The test version has been rolled out to all people by the end of 2022,” shared Mr. Hoseon Chae.

Technology & Design Exhibition - Resilience by Technology and Design

Besides the discussion sessions and seminars, RTD2022 also left a strong impression on the technology exhibition area at hall B1 of the campus of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). The exhibition area attracted not only domestic and foreign companies but also startups, science - technology units of UEH participating in exhibiting 4.0 technology solutions, especially solutions for smart cities. Specifically, Tech JDI and SGtech representing the business delegation from Singapore brought to the exhibition practical technology solutions:
