Strategic orientations of UEH in 2023

In order to continue changing for development, to meet the requirements of the age 4.0 industry, and to meet the requirements of deeper international integration, UEH has carried out restructuring in organization and operation to become a multidisciplinary and sustainable University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. The strategic goal of the university development for the period 2021-2025 and the following years is to continue to develop UEH to become a highly prestigious multidisciplinary university in training, research, and economic science consulting, business, law, management, and technology. UEH is firmly established in the Vietnamese market, gradually moving towards the regional and global markets regarding human resource training, scientific research, and international publication. We make great efforts to improve our position in the international and Asian higher education institution rankings.
To realize this strategic goal, UEH is determined to implement the following 2023 strategic directions:
 
1. Successfully implemented restructuring, forming the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. 
Continue to synchronously implement solutions for successful restructuring to become a multidisciplinary and sustainable university while simultaneously implementing the strategy of repositioning its brand name into University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. 
 
2. Internationalizing and multidisciplinary, multi-field training, applying technology and innovation
- Continuing training under the internationally advanced UEH bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral program; Enhancing teaching in English and training more and more majors in English, meeting high-quality human resources for the domestic and international labor market. Increasing the number of affiliated programs with reputable oversea partners.
-In parallel with continuing to invest in developing the prestigious traditional training disciplines of the university, opening several new disciplines in technology application and innovation with standardized design and internationalization right from the beginning.

3. Continuing to promote academic research and applied research to realize the goal of becoming a research-oriented university
Promoting academic research activities and increasing the number of international publications on Scopus, ISI, ABDC classification systems and having many articles published in high-ranking journals. Disseminating international articles to ensure maximum usefulness for researchers and agencies, and businesses. Promoting applied research and consulting activities for the country's socio-economic and business development.
 
4. Expanding international and domestic cooperation
-Strengthening international cooperation with advanced schools and international organizations. Promoting international cooperation on international scientific conferences and exchange of lecturers and students, and carrying out student transfer and admission of international students.
- Expanding cooperation with regions, localities, corporations, associations... Cooperating with partners to share and exploit resources in promoting the application of new technologies to serve teaching and research.
- Internationalizing and integrating into the world university community, knowledge transfer for domestic, regional, and global development activities
 
5. Modern university administration serves well for training, scientific research, international and domestic cooperation
-Standardizing the team, increasing the percentage of lecturers with doctoral degrees, with the titles of Assoc. Prof and Prof and standardizing the English proficiency of lecturers and managers.
- Creating optimal conditions for lecturers - managers to have the opportunity to study and research abroad. Attracting good lecturers from countries participating in training and research at UEH.
-Governing the university through strategies, annual work plans, and public democratic, scientific regulations. Clearly defining the tasks of the member units in UEH and connecting and coordinating healthy resources in units and the whole UEH.
 
6. Promoting the application of IT in training, scientific research, and university administration.
-Applying the achievements of modern science and technology to solve traditional business models, using simulation and virtual reality platforms to enhance practical accessibility and technology application for learners; Professionally applying the combination of face-to-face and online teaching.
-Continuing to promote IT applications, digital transformation in training, scientific research, and university administration activities.
 
During the development process, it requires high effort, the consensus of the UEHer team, and unity to ensure the concentration of the team's strength. The Board of Directors, leaders, lecturer in the units need to be based on the tradition of the school, on the mission, vision, strategy to plan and direct the implementation of the tasks set out. I believe that UEH will achieve more and better achievements, contributing positively to Vietnam's socio-economic development and be increasingly firm on the path of internationalization.
