Celebrating the 71st anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese students and the Vietnam Students' Association (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2021) and acknowledging efforts of individuals and groups of students in the past year, the Student Association of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City organized a glorious Gala Night of Honoring 5-Good Students of 2020 on the evening of January 10, 2021. This was especially the first event to be held at UEH Campus - Nguyen Van Linh, with a monumental outdoor stage and impressive light show, initiating a series of exciting activities in 2021 at UEH.

The spacious square with a capacity of ten thousand students, together with colorful performances produced by a combination of art, the Administrative Building’s technology, and a modern sound system, brought eye-catching experiences, unleashing the emotions and pride of the new UEH Facility. This is probably the first time a university campus in Ho Chi Minh City has ever held an elaborate sound and light staging with a special show to honor the University’s 5-Good students of 2020. The entertainment session with youthful, modern, and carefully invested performances received enthusiastic responses from nearly 2,000 students attending the Gala.

The Gala was honored to welcome the presence of the distinguished guests and teachers. Representatives of the HCMC Youth Union - Viet Nam Student Association in HCMC, were Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Phuong - Union Secretary, Association President; Mr. Bui Huu Hong Hai - Member of the Secretariat, Head of the Inspection Committee of Viet Nam Student Association in HCMC. Representatives of UEH were Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President, Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of Advisory Council, Dr. Bui Quang Viet - President of UEH Labor Union and representatives of Departments, Representative of the Party Committee - Dean of Faculty, Standing Committee of the Youth Union and Secretariat of the Student Union.

Despite many difficulties caused by the Covid-19 epidemic in 2020, UEH Student Association and its Student Sub-Associations have made relentless efforts to propagate the "5-Good Student – 5GS" movement in the UEH student community. With the theme of "STOP WISHING - START DOING", the journey of "5-Good Student 2020" has officially closed with appreciative records: 01 5GS at the Central level, 13 5GSs at the City level, 127 5GSs at the university level, 210 5GSs at the faculty level and 22 collectives of 5GS at the university level. The Gala honored 5-Good Students awarded the most outstanding 5GS and the most popular 5GS titles right on the Gala night's spectacular outdoor stage. These are the most exceptional students who always strive and improve themselves based on 05 standards: Good ethics, Good study, Good physical condition, Good volunteering, and Good integration.

As a vital part of the Gala program, the elaborate and majestic performances contributing to the Gala night attraction were performed by the following units: Youth Art Team, Folk Club, Young Melody, UEHG,... The stage at UEH Campus - Nguyen Van Linh of the Gala Night to honor 5-Good students of 2020 was also warmed up with special guests' performances: singer Huynh Tu, DJ Hoang Anh, and singer Phuong Ly.

The journey of “5-Good Student 2020” wrapped up successfully but has not ended yet. The "5-Good Student" movement is a long term journey with many new challenges, promising to train UEH's generations of comprehensive 5-Good students.
