UEH College of Technology and Design – Member of Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH University

UEH College of Technology and Design was established to promote training and research’s achievements on UEH's 45-year development journey. Its primary mission is to develop high-quality human resources, foster international relations, conduct researches, consult and transfer new knowledge in Mathematics, Statistics, Economic Information Systems, Technology, Computing, Innovation, Architecture, Planning, and Multimedia Design for policymakers, managers, academia and the business community in the region and throughout the world.

According to the World Economic Forum forecast, by 2025, humans will only account for about 48% of the workforce, while machines and algorithms will account for 52%. The fourth industrial revolution and breakthrough technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of things, virtual reality, robotics, etc., have rapidly changed the trends in many fields. Accordingly, the emergence of many technology application fields such as Education Technology - Edtech, High-tech Agriculture - Agritech, Financial Technology - Fintech,..., and new areas such as Smart City, Data Science, Data visualization, etc. In this situation, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City has been implementing the restructuring strategy to become a multidisciplinary and sustainable university to adapt to changes in the market, economy and society. It has focused on design, technology, integrated with its strengths in economics, management, business and laws to meet the needs of the market and global integration trends.

UEH College of Technology and Design was established with the primary mission of developing high-quality human resources, fostering international relations, conducting researches, consulting and transferring new knowledge in Mathematics, Statistics, Economic Information Systems, Technology, Computing, Innovation, Architecture, Planning, Multimedia Design for policymakers, managers, academia and the business community in the region and throughout the world.

UEH College Of Technology And Design focuses on developing interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and cross-multidisciplinary programs in research and application, incorporating mathematics, technology, intelligent and creative management into training and research programs. The College focuses on developing Undergraduate and Postgraduate training programs (Master and PhD) according to international standards granted by UEH and international partner universities with a training scale of up to 2,090 university students, postgraduate students and research fellows. The training programs are open, highly interconnected with UEH member Schools and international universities. Specifically, there are eight majors/specialities for Undergraduate training, 05 majors/specialities for Master's training and 01 discipline for PhD training.

The UEH College of Technology and Design operates with a structure including Board of Management, Council of Science & Training, School of Mathematics - Statistics, School of Business Information Technology, Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM), UEH Institute of Innovation (UII), Institute of Applied Mathematics (IAM), Institute of Applied Technology, research institutes, research & training institutes, Short-term Training Center of the University and General Department. With a faculty of 75 teachers, including 2 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 32 Doctors and a network of more than 20 international partners, 100 companies, businesses, associations, and more than 10,000 Alumni.

Restructuring University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City – Forming a Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH University in the 2021 - 2025 period is a crucial strategy, having great significance for maintaining and promoting UEH's achievements in the past 45 years as well as the future development of the University. Therefore, it is expected that in 2021, UEH will form 3 member colleges, including UEH College of Technology and Design, UEH College of Business, UEH College of Economics, Law and Governance. The UEH College of Technology and Design and other Colleges aim at the Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH University.
