UEH takes joint action in building a shared electronic library for higher education institutions in Vietnam under the World Bank-funded Higher Education Quality Improvement Project

The project: "Building a shared electronic library for higher education institutions in Vietnam" under the World Bank-funded Higher Education Quality Improvement Project, is projected to be implemented from 2017 to 2022. The project attracts the participation of 45 universities / institutes, with 06 member univesities, including: University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Faculty of Economics, University of Da Nang; Faculty of Economics, Hanoi National University; Foreign Trade University; Thuongmai University; Academy of Finance. The focal point is National Economics University.

The project aims to improve the quality of training and research in sciences, to promote collaboration and sharing in research by providing shared electronic databases, and building focal libraries for educational institutions, focusing on schools that provide training on economics, management, administration and business within the network of Vietnamese Economics-Business Administration Universities (VNEUs)

The specific objectives of the project are to increase the number of learners and lecturers to access and use endogenous and exogenous electronic databases, applying electronic lectures in the training process, contributing to improving training quality. In addition, the project also connects scientists to cooperate and share research results, attracting learners and lecturers to look up and use materials at the central library, thereby spreading the impact to the beneficiaries.

In the framework of implementing the project: "Building a shared electronic library for higher education institutions in Vietnam" under the World Bank-funded Higher Education Quality Improvement Project, in the morning of September 9, 2020, the project team conducted a site survey at the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending the survey team were representatives of Department of Information Technology - Ministry of Education and Training, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Duc Tho - Vice President of National Economics University. Receiving the survey team, on the UEH side, there was Prof.Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Vice President, Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies, MA. Hoang Tuyet Anh - Director of UEH Library, MA. Vo Ha Quang Dinh - Head of Department of Information Technology.

The delegation conducted a survey of the current ground plan, the projected location for equipment installation, map of the university 's network connection, equipment installation diagram, current status of server system, storage, current status of IT application at the university, information about electronic library management software, information about databases of readers, lecturers, and staff of the university.
