With the role of a key national university following the Multidisciplinary and Sustainable development strategy, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) always focuses on career orientation for future intellectual generations. To accompany parents and students in the process of choosing majors and careers, UEH coordinates with the Department of Education and Training of Provinces and Cities, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, and Ho Chi Minh City Education Magazine to participate in career orientation programs in 2024.
Opening the Sustainable University Admissions and Career Orientation Campaign, on February 29, at the Binh Phuoc Provincial Cultural Center, UEH participated in the Career and College Admissions Orientation Session 2024.
The program was attended by Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong - Vice Rector of UEH College of Business with representatives of the Department of Education and Training of Binh Phuoc province, Binh Phuoc Provincial Cultural Center and lecturers of Universities in Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, the program also had the participation of more than 1,000 students from high schools in Binh Phuoc province.

For the question: “University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City usually has a very high competition rate in university admission. How many targets are allocated for each method?”, Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong responded: “This year, UEH basically remains the same quota and 06 admission methods as it does every year. Therefore, the opportunities are similar for all applicants. Currently, the school is enrolling students at 02 campuses in Ho Chi Minh City (Code KSA), and at Vinh Long Campus (Code KSV) with the same qualifications. Tuition at UEH - Vinh Long Campus is 60-65% compared to that in Ho Chi Minh City, and in the final year, students will be able to transfer to study at Ho Chi Minh City campuses. Specifically, the methods 1,2,3,4,5,6 will have corresponding rates of 1%, 1-3%, 40-50%, 20-30%, 10%, and those remaining.
Continuing the program, Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong also advised parents and students to choose study programs with international features: "Students and parents should understand international features in 3 aspects: First, whether the field of study/ the program achieves international quality accreditation. In higher education, two popular standards are AUN-QA (a network of leading universities in Southeast Asia) and FIBAA (a prestigious European education quality assurance organization). Second, whether it is a full or partial English-taught program. Third, whether the program provides the opportunity to experience an international learning environment such as networking and exchange. Not only the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, but many universities have joint programs, standardized programs fully and partially taught in English. Depending on the characteristics and strengths of each school, their programs are built to have different approaches. During this year's admissions season, UEH offers a very special program, the ISB ASEAN CO-OP Bachelor's program, based on the ISB BBUS talented bachelor's program, entirely in English with the goal of providing general and in-depth knowledge for students to practice and gain work experiences at large businesses and economic groups in ASEAN countries right during their studies at school. Participating in the program, learners can experience some modules at foreign partner schools and study some subjects associated with practices at businesses in ASEAN. After 02 semesters, students will be considered for one of two majors (Marketing, Finance - Banking) based on their aspirations, learning results and targets. In reality, the CO-OP training model between Universities and Enterprises has become more popular in developed countries, so UEH believes that this will be a new training product that meets the current need for strong international integration."
Students who asked questions in the auditorium received gifts from UEH
In addition to in-person questions at the auditorium, parents and students also asked questions via the hotline and live stream: "I like Information Technology and plan to register for admission into this major. I'm worried about if I should choose to study Information Technology at an Engineering university or at an Economics university with strengths in Information Technology. I hope the advisory board to share about this content.”
“As a Multidisciplinary University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) or any other schools all have their own strengths that are difficult for us to compare, however, UEH's strength lies in its economic, business, and management foundation. We provide applied technology programs, and our motto is that Computer and Technology in the future must be specifically applied to humans and work. Our students not only have an in-depth understanding of machinery and technology but also know how to apply them to solve economic problems. The technology program at UEH will be integrated with multi-disciplinary knowledge, promoting the ability to apply technology to professional operations. The curriculum is designed towards application and practice: 30% fundamental knowledge; 70% specialized and practical knowledge with in-depth application in the field. Depending on the approach of students and parents, appropriate choices can be made." Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong replied.
